Carolyn Welshhans

Carolyn Welshhans is an Associate Director in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement and Acting Chief of the SEC's Cryptocurrency and Cyber Unit. Previously, she was an Assistant Director in the Enforcement Division’s Cyber Unit and Market Abuse Unit. Ms. Welshhans has been involved in numerous significant enforcement actions involving insider trading, market structure, hacking, investment advisers, broker-dealers, and public company accounting and financial disclosure violations. Prior to joining the Commission, Ms. Welshhans was in private practice. She received her J.D. from the Boston College Law School, and she received her B.A. from the College of William and Mary.
