“I founded Women Leaders in Cybersecurity here at NYU in 2016, and for nine years we’ve been bringing together amazing…women experts in cybersecurity”
– Judi Germano, WLC 2024
Women Leaders in Cybersecurity:
Women Leaders in Cybersecurity (WLC) is a headline cybersecurity event series hosted by NYU Center for Cybersecurity, housed at the NYU School of Law and NYU Tandon School of Engineering. WLC brings together distinguished women in cybersecurity to address some of the most pressing issues in the field. Now in our ninth year, Women Leaders in Cybersecurity convenes influential experts from across tech, law, academia, and business. Past conference topics have included panels on AI; cybersecurity regulation; data privacy and protection; algorithmic bias; facial recognition and surveillance technologies; election security; and career development, from entry-level to executive and board positions. Under the leadership of Center for Cybersecurity (CCS) Distinguished Fellow and WLC founder Judi Germano, the Women Leaders in Cybersecurity conferences are open to all and regularly have been filled over capacity with more than 500 registrants for in-person events. Our virtual events have reached even larger audiences with participants from across the globe.
The Women Leaders in Cybersecurity events advance women in cybersecurity by providing top women experts a platform to convene and discuss substantive issues, engaging with a broad and diverse audience, while at the same time mentoring and demonstrating opportunities for girls and women who are considering entering and advancing in the field. Our work serves as a resource for other organizations seeking to identify qualified, diverse candidates for positions within their organizations, as well as qualified speakers for their events. We also provide free Continuing Legal Education credits (CLE) for many of our events.
Many participants and attendees have remarked that WLC is their favorite cybersecurity event of the year.
